French Roulette, European Roulette & American Roulette
All of the world’s roulette games are available online!
There are three kinds of roulette – but the French are responsible for the first game, which spread across Europe before becoming a form of entertainment in the United States. The three variantsinclude French, European and American Roulette.
The French play with a single zero on the roulette wheel, which is said to have been handed down from the Europeans. The French version uses the La Partage rule, which means that if players bet on even-money bets and zero comes up, only 50% of the bet is lost. Another word for La Partage is En Prison. The two are similar in that bets are held “in prison” until it is determined the bets are lost or given back to the players. Players in prison do not win on top of their original bets.
Another single zero version, European roulette has 37 numbers – one through 36 and a zero. Players use standard chips from a cash desk. European Roulette tables have a game oneach side with the wheel in the middle. Sixteen people can play at a time and there are usually three casino employees managing the table. Players at French and European tables are dressed stylishlyat all times. They regularly tip their croupiers at the conclusion of betting rounds.
The game is played with chips of many different colours, with one colour per player. The American wheel has the single and double zero pockets with 38 numbers in total. There is one croupier per table, who spins the wheel for six players per table. American Roulette has the least favourable odds for players – 5.26%.
