The upcoming Asian Poker Tour event in Macau is set to feature in a new Chinese-language poker film, the tour's owners AsianLogic announced.
The Asian Poker Tour Macau Festival, which takes place from August 12-23 at Galaxy Starworld, will feature in the film, which for the moment is entitled "Poker King," and is being directed by Chan Hing-Kai and Janet Chun.
The film tells the story of two arch-rivals competing for world poker glory. The cast includes Louis Koo, Sean Lau Ching-Wan and Stephy Tang.
AsianLogic CEO Tom Hall said: "This is a very exciting project and is sure to provoke even more excitement about the Asian Poker Macau Festival in August. Players across the region and throughout the world are encouraged to come to the Starworld and play at the Asian Poker Tour Macau - the movie crew will be needing lots of extras and even players to take on roles if they choose."
The buy-in for this year's event is set at $4,300. Last year's event was won by Yevgeniy Timoshenko, who walked away with $500,000 after beating a field that included players from over 40 countries.
